The International Food Protection Training Institute (IFPTI) offers career-spanning training for state and local food protection professionals in order to improve the overall protection of the U.S. food supply. The certified curriculum meets federal food safety program standards and is being developed in collaboration with the US Food and Drug Administration and the Association of Food & Drug Officials (AFDO), a non-profit professional organization established in 1896 consisting of state, federal, local regulatory officials, and industry representatives, in partnership with a vast array of public health associations.

Start-up funding for the IFPTI has been generously provided by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation.
