The Supply Chain Controls bundle includes Imports, Recalls, Traceability, and Transportation. All four courses are developed with FDA to align to the IFSS basic level and are online, self-paced courses. Here is a brief description of each course:

Imports

The IFSS Basic Level Imports course will provide introductory knowledge, skills, and abilities related to the regulation of feed and food products grown, produced or manufactured outside of or returned to the U.S.

  • Goal: Participants will be able to identify the import process in regulatory programs.

  • Scope: Topics in this course include Foundations, Laws and Regulations, Entry Process, Inspection, Investigation, Compliance and Enforcement Actions, and Import Fraud

Recalls

After completion of this IFSS Basic Level course participants will be able to identify the recall process in regulatory programs.

Topics in this course include Foundations, Risk Assessment, Documentation, Communications, Recall Process, and Product Disposition

Traceability

Participants will be able to recognize the role of product tracing in human and animal food safety programs.

Topics in this course include Foundations, Making the Case for Initiating Product Tracing, Supply Chain, and Product Tracing Process.

Transportation

Participants will be able to describe how transportation affects human and animal food safety.

Topics in this course include Foundations, Transportation Methods, Inspections, Security, and Product Safety.
