Curriculum
IFPTI is working with a representative interdisciplinary team of food protection professionals from across the United States to create a national curriculum for standards- based, career-spanning professional development.
The national curriculum is designed to include new and existing courses offered by organizations within the food protection community as well as IFPTI courses.

The inventory in the Food Protection Course Catalog represents the known food safety‐related training or educational courses currently in circulation.
Through the collaborative work of FDA, the Partnership for Food Protection, and the International Food Protection Training Institute (IFPTI); training and certification networks and systems are being developed. This catalog is a starting point in developing a curriculum for food protection officials in a Nationally Integrated Food Safety System as identified in FDA’s Training Vision.
Current work by these collaborators include processes to support the Training Vision such as the creation of training standards, job task analyses, identification of food protection official competencies and linking these competencies to training courses. The work also includes setting quality course criteria, identifying training gaps, developing curricula, building instructor capacity, and using blended learning formats to update and create training courses that support the National Integrated Food Safety System.
We welcome your feedback and submission of additional courses!
