Standards-based, career-spanning training

The International Food Protection Training Institute (IFPTI) delivers career-spanning food protection training for state and local food protection professionals to ensure competency and equivalency in meeting established U.S. federal food safety standards.

Most face-to-face IFPTI training programs are delivered at the Kendall Center, through a partnership with Western Michigan University in Battle Creek, Michigan. Additional courses and webinars will be offered on-line. Click here to see the course schedule.

“The biggest challenge we face in our job today is the ever-growing expertise we're supposed to possess, with ever-shrinking budgets to get the training needed.” Karla Horne, IFPTI student Food Scientist

“What I find most gratifying being an instructor at IFPTI is seeing students walk away with real knowledge and skills.” Mark Reed, IFPTI Instructor Environmental Health Supervisor

“When you share ideas, you learn something. Other people may approach things another way and that could give you the tool you need to be successful.” Byron Beerbower, IFPTI Instructor Compliance Manager
