On Tuesday, November 24th AFDO and the IFPTI held an “AFDO Web Update – Introduction to the International Food Protection Training Institute”.  AFDO’s Executive Director, Joe Corby, AFDO’s IFPTI Project Director, Gerald Wojtala, AFDO’s IFPTI Project Manager, Steve Steinhoff and AFDO’s Operations Manager, Leigh Ann Stambaugh presented the 45-minute webinar regarding the integrated food safety system and the development of the Institute.  AFDO and the IFPTI plan to make the webinar presentation available on their websites in the coming weeks.  [More Information]

New center, programs position Battle Creek as hub for food science

BATTLE CREEK - A lack of mandatory federal training requirements for state food protection professionals could have 3,000 to 5,000 individuals descending upon Battle Creek for training in the coming years.

Stephen Benoit, president and COO of the National Center for Food Protection (NCFP) and founding member of the International Food Protection Training Institute (IFPTI), said that number could be even higher.
