Course Description: This course will equip participants with the skills necessary to utilize surveillance, tracking and intelligence systems related to the food supply chain. The course is divided into five core modules presented over one day, including a hands-on practical exercise utilizing the skills learned.
Objectives: Participants will learn to describe existing surveillance, tracking and intelligence information systems related to imports and transportation of food and understand how to utilize a risk based approach to identify possible import shipments and/or transport conveyances needing additional screening. Participants will be able to effectively identify, share, and disseminate intelligence and information related to food imports and the transportation of food.
Target Audience: Persons with a stake in food safety and defense, including: law enforcement, state fusion center personnel, emergency managers and responders, extension, public health food and agriculture industry and security professions, transportation industry, and federal, state, local and tribal and regional officials.

Selection: Because this course can accommodate a limited number of students, participants will be selected to create a class that is geographically diverse and includes students from a variety of agencies. Applicants will be notified of their participation no later than March 31st.
